PocketProMD
The Gold Standard of Patient Communication
Inspired by
U.S. Veterans
They’ve been telling me about my liver for 20 years so you won’t change my mind! I’m still going to the liquor store after this appointment
The vision for PocketProMD was born from a deeply personal encounter with a veteran patient in my gastroenterology clinic. This patient, plagued by frequent hospitalizations due to liver disease, was visibly frustrated. For decades, doctors had advised him to quit drinking to prevent cirrhosis, but he couldn’t see how his liver condition was deteriorating his quality of life.
During our conversation, I asked, “What does cirrhosis mean to you?” His response—a mix of dismissals and confusion—revealed a heartbreaking truth: no one had ever shown him what his condition looked like or thoroughly explained it. The information gap between him and his doctors was massive.
Determined to bridge this gap, I turned to visual aids. I showed him images of cirrhotic livers, esophageal varices, and the purpose of screening endoscopies. As he saw the visuals, something clicked. He began to understand the severity of his condition and left our session feeling empowered to make better health choices.
This moment was my eureka moment. I realized that many patients like him were struggling due to a lack of clear, visual explanations of their conditions. I knew I had to do something. That’s why I created PocketProMD—a pocket-sized communication tool filled with high-fidelity illustrations designed to make complex medical information accessible and understandable.
PocketProMD is more than just a tool - it’s a commitment to providing higher-quality care for all patients. It ensures that no patient leaves a consultation feeling confused, anxious, or overwhelmed. By integrating PocketProMD into clinical practice, we can transform patient education, empower informed decisions, and improve health outcomes.
Join us in this mission to revolutionize patient care, one PocketPro at a time
A Low-Cost Approach to High-Quality Care
Every patient deserves to receive high quality accurate information about their health.
In today's fast-paced healthcare environment, the complexity of medical terminology leaves patients bewildered, with nearly all physicians still relying on hand gestures to convey intricate anatomical and pathophysiological concepts. It is nerve racking to undergo any surgery or medical procedure.
PocketProMD is the Gold Standard for patient communication
The burden of extensive administrative and charting responsibilities has significantly constrained the time physicians can dedicate to patient education. PocketProMD is set to transform this dynamic. Our meticulously crafted, pocket-sized booklets feature high-fidelity anatomical and procedural illustrations, empowering physicians to communicate complex medical information with unprecedented clarity and efficiency.
By integrating PocketProMD into your clinical practice, you not only enhance patient understanding but also foster a more informed and engaged patient population. This innovation is poised to redefine the patient experience, bridging the gap between intricate medical knowledge and patient comprehension.
